Christopher Buchholz was born in Los Angeles in 1962. He is the son of
Horst Buchholz and his wife Myriam Bru. Following his father's
footsteps, Christopher became an actor. His first main role was that of
the assassin Ali Agca in Giuseppe Fina's movie 'The Plot to Kill the
Pope', produced in 1986. For this performance Christopher was awarded
best new actor at the Florence Film Festival. In Germany he became
known through his participation in the serial 'Das Erbe der
Guldenburgs'. Fluent in English, French, Italian, and German, he mostly
works in France, Italy, and the USA. Christopher's latest production in
German is 'Heller als der Mond', produced in Austria and directed by
Virgil Widrich in 1999. In 2001 Christopher performed the main role in
'Eros - The Dangerous Thread of Things', directed by Michelangelo
Antonioni, a story about a couple drifting apart. In 2002 Christopher
played in the historic feature 'Luther', with Joseph Fiennes and Peter
Ustinov, directed by Eric Till, and in the German two-part TV movie
'Der Seerosenteich', directed by Johannes Fabrick. Christopher Buchholz
has also worked as the director of two one-act plays by Anton Chekhov -
'The Bear' and 'The Marriage Proposal' - and of two short films titled
'Happy Birthday' and 'Les Jardins des mauvais garcons'.
